It revs it nuts off at idle (5-6k) unless you push the throttle forward (if that makes sense ?) but if you push it too far it stalls ?

Probably start by taking the tank/airbox off and checking the throttle stop/idle adjuster, its very weird ?

B.T.W the dealer cant sort it ( probably cant be arsed sorting it)

Hi do the revs drop to normal when engine has warmed up ??

Mine revs high when cold then calms down since i fitted a T.R.E. & advanced the fueling.

No exactly the opposite, when its first started & cold it will idle at 1800-2000 rpm, but within  less than a minute it rises to 3000-4000 rpm and as soon as the temp gauge starts to show a reading (40 degrees C) it sits at 5K plus. You can push the throttle forward ( and feel some resistence as though something is holding the butterflise open ? ) and the speed drops if you push it all the way back it will stall. there is some 'free play' in the throttle cable and the idle adjustment screw has no affect other than increasing the speed.

I have not stripped or looked at the throttle body ( as I think the fault lies here unless its an E.C.U fault ? )

The bike is completely standard has covered 3000 miles and this fault has been evident since last service ? (its been sat since then and it was serviced at the end of the summer)

I was after a workshop manual or location of diag plug and fault code table to be going on with.

Thanks for the welcome guys anyway  :icon_thumright:

There is a link to the workshop manual on this site(in the tech section) but you have to post at least 35 posts to see it so get posting bud ;)
