You push! You can actually do it with your hand from inside the car on flat ground it is that light. With a bit of careful driving you can avoid needing to do it most of the time.

Some people fit an electric reverse. Others a mechanical one. These are generally unreliable and add lots of weight. At the end of the day, the car is designed to be a track car that is road legal. Until they change the law (Which is happening end of April this year) a reverse ability is not needed for the SVA (Single Vehicle Approval) Test. I will be on the road by then so will avoid needing one.

[I believe most kit companies are designing a temporary reverse system to be fitted for the new type SVA, called IVA (Individual VA), which will be removed after the test. The car is subject to a normal MOT under the same rules as a brand new production car once it had passed SVA/IVA and therefore does not require a reverse gear.]

surely it cant be that difficult or heavy to put on a small 2 position gear at the crank, it would have to be seperate to your main gear change like a hi-low gear type thing but your advantage would be that you could use gears 1 - 6 in reverse as well as forward :D

Yeah some people do it. I can't be arsed, more bits to go wrong. I am going for light, simple and fast!

I have to admit though, would be bloody amusing to have all 6 gears going backwards. Would make for some entertaining drives!

Well I am very close to finishing now. Been ages since I updated because I have been very busy with the car and other bits and shits.

So, a few photos and videos of first start and a quick rev today! It is actually further on than you can see in the photos now!

First Start

Rev'd to about 7-8 thou. I still can't believe redline is 13,000.

I am more than creaming! I can't wait, unfortunately I am away with work and then skiing for potentially the next 5 weeks! Hopefully be ready to drive on my return though.
Some pictures as she stands today, first trip out the garage. Very soon she will be heading toward Mac#1 Factory for a few final bits and SVA Prep/SVA!
