Anyone had steroid injection?
« on: December 15, 2008, 07:54:02 PM »

I was back at Lancaster Hospital for an appointment with my orthopedic specialist this afty, ( he finally seems to be coming up with some answers about my left shoulder/arm)  :hello2: anyway he gave me a shot of steroid into the shoulder, felt like a numb arm at first but after a couple of minutes the arm felt good as new and no pain at all. He,s told me its a steroid that will carry on releasing into the affected area for the next 6 weeks. Anyone had this treatment? works great don,t it! If it,s good enough for people like Hopkins, it,s good enough for me. ( Wonder if it will make me any quicker?) [rofl] [rofl]

That shot is great - I get it in my back when it goes. Its a bitch when it starts to back off though. Depends on where you get it how long it lasts as it sits in the muscle tissue.
You'll probably have a fuck off  big bruise to show for it too [whistle]

Ye my wife had 3 a few years ago in her left shoulder.  Was painful at the time when it wore off but hers did work eventually.  Seems to be ok now.  Don't think she had any bruising but did suffer for a couple of days after.

think the injection you have had is prob something called cortazone forgive the spelling gents.
it,s a anti inflamatory steroid injection and its injected into your joint it works by drawing sinovaul fluid again
spelling into the joint area this fluid packs the joint giving pain relief.works for a period of time up to 6 months
in some cases.but not for me hope this helps jon
