Hi from sunny South Africa
« on: December 02, 2008, 11:49:18 AM »

Found this site by accident. Read some articles and liked what i saw. It is quite different to the American ZX10r site.
About myself -
Resident in Johannesburg.
Age 50 - riding for 27 years.
Current ride - 2005 ZX10 green - Mods Power Commander/Braided Hoses/RearSets/Full Arata Exhaust plus other bits and pieces. Have done over 30,000km on this bike
Previously owned Zx12 and ZX9 and few other older machines
Must mention that we are rather fortunate to be able to ride almost all year round. On various sites see everybody does their mods during winter months, we have to take it off the road.
Looking forward to chatting to everybody

Around Johannesburg we have relatively flat stretches with a few twisties out west of town. We also have a stretch of road where we have over the years been able to do some serious high speeds, but generally we go out to the Eastern Provinces(about 200km from Jhb) for weekends where there are some serious mountain passes, sweeping bends and a stretch of 22km with some 40 corners in it. An amazing piece of road which can be ridden at 120km/hr in both directions without using brakes . All in all about 800km of road. We have been able to ride around 400 to 450km in a single day as we did on a trip in October this year. When i get a chance will post some pictures of the various roads that we have travelled in this area.

Welkom Meneer.  :occasion14: Where abouts in 'Dodge' city are you? I used to have 2 houses one in Juksie Park and 1 in Bloubosrand. I grew up in Blairgowrie and my mother still lives in the same house.
