try using the drop off system if there is enough in the group, it works a treat and makes the ride fun....if there is only two of you you need to ride your own ride but if you find your leaving your buddy behind you have to slow down...

I understand what your saying, I didn't know the roads and I refuse to ride bunched up, I have to watch my license due to my job, but on the other hand how am I supposed to get quicker riding on my own?
[/quote]   I wouldn,t worry about it Pinky, just do your own thing at your own pace. :icon_thumleft: It,s well documented that trying to keep up with faster riders normally ends in tears (what may seem comfortable to them may feel like warp speed to someone else.) Having said that tough i realise it,s hard to put into practice. [wall] I recall a ridout a few years back with an ex T.T rider who i was introduced to by a mutual friend turning up at my door one friday afternoon. " Fancy that ridout ? "he asks. "No Worries" i reply quietly confident at his chosen route. " I,m pretty fast over that section" i,m thinking to meself. Well it turned out that my definition of fast and his were poles apart. [rofl] it was a strange experience tough as my mind was a whirl of contradiction, one minute thinking " you can stay with him, gun it" then 10 seconds later thinking " What are you doing fool, he,s an ex racer, he,s toying with you, you,re gonna wind up through a hedge" :emb: I am glad to report that my sensible head won and got back in my " comfort zone" and i realised how easy it is to get sucked in trying to impress someone. As i said just do your own thing at your own pace.... you,ll get there! :-P

Went out with my otherhalf and 3 of his mates last night I wont bunch up with them  (and I'm not the fastest rider anyways) they overtook a car I got stuck then they left me, I thought they might have waited at the roundabout but no.  It was 40 min before I got a call asking where I was.

Pinky that's shocking!

Whenever I ride out with Rotax he always keeps me in his mirrors (as long as I'm not in front ) and if he can't see me then he slows, if I still haven't caught up after 2 minutes then he'll come and find me!

40 minutes?

I hope you've punched the bugger really bloody hard!

Erm...depends!

If your with a group who you know how fast/slow they ride, then you should gauge it.... if your never more than 2-3mins apart when all going well then if its longer than that go back?!?!

Recently, on a hoon to wales...dave's bike broke and couldn't see em for ages....so I went back for him....and he was miles and miles away...was a good 10 mins back....plus Chrisblack10r and jayj I left behind...but Andy J was with Dave...so poor old me was stuck between a rock and hard place

I like the drop of system....but think you should hoon for a minute...and then wait for others to catch up...then hoon again.  Also...always agree the route before hand...then you know where your going if you get left behind.

I don't think you should try and keep up with faster riders...thats how accidents happen!
