Title: My new gen 5 ZX10R
Post by: Matt83 on March 13, 2017, 04:57:37 PM
Thought I'd put a couple of pics up. Getting lots of miles on it and loving it. Still room for improvement though! I want the gearbox shimming and another remap to see if i can get some power back at low revs, pulling away from lights requires a fair bit of clutch slip...

Current mods: OZ forged wheels, 520 chain and sprocket conversion, quick change rear spindle with underslung caliper, brembo discs, full titanium arrow system with pipewerx can, race air filter, remap with auto-blipper enabled (204bhp at the wheel), lithium battery, dynamic quick action throttle, Lightech rearsets, Lightech fuel cap, Samco hoses, carbon hugger, carbon exhaust hanger, r&g tail tidy, Michelin Pilot Road 4 tyres (until it gets a bit drier and warmer) and almost every nut and bolt changed for titanium/aluminium.

I saw that for sale. Looks nice. As for low end power im not sure youll ever be pleased with that.
Its the only reason im sticking with gen4 coz no matter what some say the gen5 has no low end guts. Lovely smooth motors though

I ended up going back to a gen 1 a few months later, really wasn't that impressed with the current model as a road bike.

This is the problem.
Bikes are getting racier and faster but less road friendly.
This is the reason i just purchased another 2003 r1 for my second bike.
