'ello from deepest darkest Cornwall
« on: November 15, 2008, 11:45:16 PM »

Hi, Just about finished building my new toy from a cat C write off. Its a '10r on an 07 plate. Power commander, LOUD pipe, HM quickshifter, 1/6 turn quick action throttle, 19x20 brembo master cylinder, 6 mm spacer on top of the rear shock and a very nasty matt black paint job. I'll upload some pics if i ever figure out how to do it. Just got to fit the one tooth smaller front sprocket and she'll be finished. Ought to be quite lively.Any suggestions for further modifications gratefully recieved.

just joined myself, but welcome anyway! my own 10 was a write off project at 1 stage too. 1/6 throttle would be mad id say. they dont need much mods from standard i reckon, all ya need is a good road and a big set of round and dangly's. enjoy it bud

I wondered how long it would be before someone asked about the origins of the can. Its from a    ahem     Mitsubishi Shogun!!!!! It was a little experiment that turned out way better than i ever expected. And with a yoshimura baffle in it doesnt sound too antisocial. Without it, it sounds like the hounds of hell have been let loose. When I got the bike it had a full akra on it. Thats up for sale now if anyones interested along with a few other bits and pieces.

So how did you mount the can to the headers?

Got a sound clip??

Got some standard headers off ebay, decat section from same place. Then the bike shop next door just happened to have a section of pipe from a vfr 400 with exactly the right bends to get it all joined together, bit of welding, polish up the stainless shogun can and hey presto. Had to cut out a small section of belly pan. Found a yoshi baffle on ebay which fitted perfectly and should stop any lynchings from the neighbours. Will try and sort out a sound clip with baffle in and out.
