Views on the Russel Brand / Jonathan Ross saga

Just wondered what everyone else thinks on this?

I think JR is very funny although very close to the mark sometimes. But think that this time has gone too far.

As for RB I have never liked the guy.

Trouble is that they will probably end up making more out of this than they will loose.

Overpaid, talentless juvenille baffoons.

Dislike either intensely - rarely funny, regularly irritating.  Humiliation is not humour.

completely over the top reaction in the end i think, i do like the jonathan ross show usually and russel brand can be mildley amusing (altho i dont see what all the birds liek about him either) BUT an official public appology and a nice big fine shoulda done the job rather than having 2 people resign and one be suspended for 3 months.

another "I KNOW WHAT THE PEOPLE WANT" reaction

over top and pointless BBC reaction, most people under 30 think it is fine, even the guy who had the joke played on him doesnt really find it that bad...BBC is wrong again in my eyes.....my personal views are that this kind of humour isnt that funny but the youth of today find it cool....we are all getting old...

The fact that they only had 2 complaints about the show on the day says it all. The rest only came after all the fuckin sheep jumped on the newspaper "give em shit" bandwagon.
If it was on Radio 1 then no-one would of batted an eyelid.
Right or wrong - the people involved didn't push it further. The guy said they were comedians and comedy is subjective.
The mistake lies with the producers for airing it without checking.
Mnd you the guy did deserve some shit for not showing up without any excuse or call whatsoever. Did he expect RB to say nothing?
And tehy didn't lie - RB DID shag the grandaughter [whistle]

have to admit that life's just too short and how come this fills the airwaves.. I called someone a tosser today so does that mean I get front page news and have to resign from life...............I know I know....... just winding you up  :pottytrain2:

anyhow the sort of comedy is on the edge and as Horse says  the pre-production team are responsible for editing and avoiding exactly this and sometimes things get through the net and heads roll, oh well, who cares anyhow  :dontknow:  does anyone really give a damn  :icon_scratch:  not me that's for sure, I don't know the pair and if you take risks sometimes you lose

no pre-production edits as a it was a live show! but i.m getting to the age when i can see through the hype, anyone remember Grundy with THE SEX PISTOLS live on air...... ( Oh how shocking ! ) [rofl] which i think was the precursor to getting yourself a ban on primetime Tv/Radio was a guaranteed hit. For f...ks sake Frankie Goes to Hollywood was proof of that!  :crybaby2: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=JTM3CdzB4Vs
