air horns
« on: October 21, 2008, 10:37:52 AM »

has anyone actually fitted an air horn to their bike? something like this

http://www.bikerhiway.com/stebel-nautilus-compact-motorcycle-air-horn-black-p-74.html

after a couple of dicks pulling over on me lately i want something to give them a bit of a fright instead of them barely hearing that gay roadrunner meep they seem to include with even the most aggressive looking bikes

I'm sure I've seen them at Halfrauds, they're quite heavy.  There's another Stebel that's only 2Db quieter that is more like a traditional horn.

The stebel's are awesome. Remember 2db is 1/4 the volume though  + 4db is double the volume, etc, etc.

I just think the Nautilus is ok on a Pan-Euro barge, but on a sportsbike the loud but lighter horn is probably better, and easier to site.  I'm sure I read an install on a forum where the horn had to be stripped slightly, and the air tubes lengthened, to get it to fit cleanly on a 10.
