No offence, but can people PLEASE use google before posting threads like this, yuou only make it worse by spreading it round, makes to be more of a scam/virus than the original post intended.

googling the phone number will tell you this scam was scrapped in 2005.

but only on that specific telephone number. It does not mean that another scam using exactly the same method but a different phone number will not emerge for Christmas 2007. So be aware - our advice, as always is not to just pick up the phone

WTF  some of us are struggling like fook at the minute, i have`nt a pot to piss in, so maybe some of us who have a family to provide for may be a little naive when it comes to earning an extra few quid before xmas.

so whats wrong with this thread? fido was just trying to help others from getting sucked in.

what was written on your card? and what phone number?

i'm just saying it's like the "Life Is Beautiful" Emails that people send around, or the "note on your windscreen, steal your car" it makes it worse.

WTF are you on about  [wall]

Why the FCUK would I bother Googling the phone number. I got the email and thought I'd pass it on to warn other people.

Obviously you have too much time on your hands to be Googling everything.
