Looking to get my suspension setup on the 10.
Has anyone set theirs up, looking for settings for around 15 stone, fast road riding with occasional trackday.
When i bought my bike i noticed the rear shock has around 8 threads showing? Is this required?
I was on a cornering course and instructor mentioned the rear height of my bike compared to a gixer
Mine was quite a bit higher and he was very shocked as to the riding position of bike he said it was setup for track.
Now i could say he is talking shit but he is a well known competitive racer up my way so i would think he would know what he was talking about.

East of Scotland is where i am, have been in touch with Bob Grant at Knockhill and has said he will try to fit me in during the race weekend.
Now another question, i have spoke to a mate and he reckons a dampner is more beneficial than suspension...for the 05 Ten.
I have had a couple of head shakey moments but nothing that scared me really.
Any thoughts??

my opinion for comfort , get a damper .... just makes things smoother

I would say the damper is almost a must, i have been saved from a few tank slaps by that thing thats for sure

i've found that if you've got a good suspension setup, then bar wiggles are tamed somewhat - power wheelies too. if the suspension is doing it's job, both tyres are tracking the road

BUT i'd still have a damper on there, for those "50mph > 130mph blasting out of a corner" moments

lots of posts on this. never had any bikes set up before and would deff reccomend. the new10r is a bit harsh for the road ( as all the monthly mags tell us!) had my damper revalved and front and rear set up. completely different bike. soaks up the road crap better and corners much more planted on road bumps, even with two up !

next job is fork oil, my bloke said standard stuff will go thick in time so he is gonna put some premium stuff in. tells me that will make a diff to and have much more adjustment..
think a front/under bottom yoke, paddock stand is on the NEC list.....

aye, that's 20 years with little progress from Kawasaki isn't it, you'd think they'd have their act together by now unless of course it's their unique selling point
