So according to their stats 13% of fatals and 8% of serious injury accidents are caused by speeders. So even if these new measures are successful they'll still only reduce the overall casualty figures by the same amount.

When will this government wake up and realise if it seriously wants to cut road deaths it is tackling the problem from completely the wrong end of the scale!

the real reason is the very very small but vociferous mothers who go crying to the politicians to say that their child was killed by a speeding motorist and therefore all speeding motorists should be stopped....

the key here is speeding...it does not mean driving faster than the speed limit, it means driving faster than was safe at that time...so even in a 30 limit a car doing 20mph can be speeding...and dont laugh there is at least one case where a child was killed and the motorist succesfully prosecuted for doing 20 when they said 10 would have been the safe speed...

The country is going mad but people are seeing this, the right minded are seeing it, banning people is nuts, it increases the number of uninsured, as some have said on here....it is not the right way....it is silly and childish but thats what we have for law and order in this country silly and childish people...

But guys I would say this....wheelie's are dangerous in the wrong places, and too much speed in the wrong place will all get you into trouble...and I dont mean just with the law....the great news for most of us is that the police have more sense than the politicians or the police constables put together..and they usually apply a bit of common sense to the application of said laws.....thank god for bike cops is all i can say...I know some can be an arse but mostly they are the best cops around...magistrates are nutters and stipends mostly on a power trip....juries are the best way to go if you have a good case but bikers rarely take this course as the costs would be too high...

the UK is heading towards micrscopic control of everything we do.. but the criminals will still committ crime and mostly go free...country is fooked...
