I understand what your saying, I didn't know the roads and I refuse to ride bunched up, I have to watch my license due to my job, but on the other hand how am I supposed to get quicker riding on my own?
[/quote] I wouldn,t worry about it Pinky, just do your own thing at your own pace.
It,s well documented that trying to keep up with faster riders normally ends in tears (what may seem comfortable to them may feel like warp speed to someone else.) Having said that tough i realise it,s hard to put into practice.
I recall a ridout a few years back with an ex T.T rider who i was introduced to by a mutual friend turning up at my door one friday afternoon. " Fancy that ridout ? "he asks. "No Worries" i reply quietly confident at his chosen route. " I,m pretty fast over that section" i,m thinking to meself. Well it turned out that my definition of fast and his were poles apart.
it was a strange experience tough as my mind was a whirl of contradiction, one minute thinking " you can stay with him, gun it" then 10 seconds later thinking " What are you doing fool, he,s an ex racer, he,s toying with you, you,re gonna wind up through a hedge"
I am glad to report that my sensible head won and got back in my " comfort zone" and i realised how easy it is to get sucked in trying to impress someone. As i said just do your own thing at your own pace.... you,ll get there!
