What 2nd Bike Choice
« on: September 23, 2008, 10:15:48 AM »

I know many of us have discussed what would be your second bike after the 10's mental performance

I am considering buying a supermoto for a bit of twisty fun and hopefully some winter greed laning, can't ride everywhere at warp speed,

Having searched the interweb, its looking like a CCM 644 would be a good buy  :icon_thumright: as they seem g :icon_thumright:ood value for money.

Anyone else done the same?

I have a Supermoto Husqvarna  610. CCM`s are a bit tame , if you want an animal look at KTM or Husky really. Great fun but no way are they going to protect a license!!    :headbang:  I say do it, you will not regret it.  I did the California Supermoto School also...Helped alot.    :-P

Nice Bike Iceman  :icon_thumright: :icon_thumright:

I did look into a husky 610, but heard a few nightmare stories regarding reliability/spares etc, Hows yours been?

Remember reading an atricle about the the 610 and they were described as barking mad  :hello2:

CCM build quality is shite!!

Mate bought a brand new R30 and had issues with the paint on the tank, scratched forks (he rekons they arent even a pair as one is a slightly different gold colour to the other) , the switchgear mount on one handlebar was broken, the grips just slid off the bars , fork protector was cracked and various other things like wireing not  routed properly.

Be carefull if buying new as these things aint cheap.

well i am one of the lucky few who does currently have a second bike and my wife bought it for me(she bought me the 10r too but less said about that the better:)), Its race spec(i.e no lights key etc) and weighs about 10 - 15 kilos i think.  The problem is i cant ride it anywhere here, if i am caught out on it it will be confiscated and crushed

LOL. Had no probs so far with mine....Have also heard of the horror stories...... I think they are duue to poor or no maintenance...which is high if you go for a more competition type motor...ie..Husaberg/KTM/Husky. However if you do the maintaining then they are fine..... In race mode every 10 hours for mine!!!!! On road I do it all at every 1000 miles. works so far...And is mental.  Totally changed gearing as it would do 120 in top!!!!!! Too much... Bit better now and pulls like stink from nothing.
Good luck. If you are near to me I`ll let you have a blat...Am in Reading.....    :hello2:

If I had to get a supermoto I quite like Aprilas' SMV750.

But my second choice of bike would be 2009 R1... or a B-King I really like those!  :icon_thumright:
