Is this because the K9 is a vast step forward (not seen anything about a K9), or is nothing selling at the moment?

They'll be giving them away with cornflakes soon

I reckon the build quality on my 08 10R is as good as on my old CBR1000RR4 Fireblade so there  :pottytrain2:
Sad to say that the 04 blade wasn't a shining example for a Honda. Very thin paint and corrosion problems in 04/05.

I think its a bit like modern cars, theres very few truely crap and unreliable ones now-adays.  These bikes remain bullet proof unless tinkered with in most circumstances (ok not very crash proof but thats a fairly consistant thing throught the universe)

Ride had an article earlier this year on their '07 10R that they'd ridden all winter & other than a couple of bolt heads there wasn't a trace of corrosion on it, the 675 Triumph on the other hand was well fooked.

Kawasaki finish used to be pretty decent, but they lost their way a bit in the 90s - my '97 ZX-6R was pretty poor, the exhaust headers were showing rust spots within a couple of days, but I think it's back to being quite good again these days.   :icon_thumright:

In comparison, I've just finished stripping down a pair of GPZ900s Both have been sat in a a damp lockup for 6+ years & I only failed to remove 1 bolt on each, both failed to undo & sheared - they were both little ones in the bottom of the battery tray were the bottom of the thread is exposed to all the crap that the back wheel throws up.
