surely they must come with some form of identity or the market would be flooded with dodgy frames.

I'm sure as hell it wouldnt cost a grand to get a new frame certified and registered!

doesnt sound all that difficult a job to rebuild using a new chassis.

http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/BuyingAndSellingAVehicle/RegisteringAVehicle/DG_10014246

As I see it, buy a new chassis from a dealer, take the engine and some other major components from the donor vehicle and build yourself a complete bike. Take the receipt for the chassis and the old V5 to the dvla and they will register it using the original mark.

whatever costs may be incurred they sure as shit wont add up to a grand!!!

no no no  [wall] trust me i know, how can you possibly just put ID on a bike if it has`nt got any? i.e a new frame! or what if you buy a cat b (to be broken for parts)?

you would only buy a new frame from kawasaki if say you was only tpft on your insurance and you crashed you bike and wanted to rebuild it your self.

you would buy a frame from me or the chap on ebay if you had bought a damaged bike and wanted to build it up with a cat b/c/d against it.

if you was just to build a bike from bits then take it to the dvla it would become Q reg.

Buying that frame is an easy way to ring a nicked bike. Thats why it commands the money it does.

Liam is Right. You must already have an ID (ie from you old crashed frame) to put on a new frame.

Wise up
