Me and my Dad decided to have a day in the Isle of Man ... and it was wicked!!
Left Sheffield at 9:30pm, rode to Haysham (in the pissing rain) and got the night ferry, got a few hours kip on the ferry floor. Arrived in IOM at 5:30am and went for a lap of the course ..... loads of ear to ear smiles on the near empty roads, the roads where a bit damp though and loads of mist on the mountain as per usual but still very enjoyable.
Found a nice cafe and had a full english and then time for another lap, roads were a bit busy though so we went into Peel and fell asleep on the beach. Lunch in a nice pub in Castletown and then a few more laps, nice and empty roads so had a nice play
Nice ride around the island on the coast roads and then did the Southern 100 course and another 2 laps of the TT course and then off for the ferry. Got the 7:45 ferry back to Heysham, arrived at 11pm and then the ride back to Sheffield, it wasn't raining this time but came back the motorway and there was loads of spray! Got home for 1:30am then bed for a very well deserved long sleep!
Very tiring but very well worth it, if it was cheaper i'd be over there all the time
I'd recommend it
