bikes
« on: August 29, 2008, 08:06:34 PM »

been working in a honda dealer today,
i`v worked in there before so i know the lads fairly well now. We were chatting away and one of the guys asks

"what bike do you ride"
i reply
"a zx10r but just use it on the track dont bother with the road any more"

holy shit i`v never felt anything like it the look i got for owning a Kawasaki! anyone would think i had just sha#ged his sister.

so i go on to say i would of bought a blade but did`nt want a sports tourer , it did`nt go down to well. i was only joking with em but they could`nt see it.

why is it there is bike owners and then honda owners?

too true, hondas seem to have a reputation for being the the sensible and or boring choice... anyone know why?

saying that once when my ten was in for its 12500mile service i demo'd an hrc colour rr7 blade and it didn't light any fires... only good thing was the brakes, 320mm discs and all that....

tbh i think most* people would find it easier to ride a honda, therefore ride it faster, but it's the neutral feeling that puts off the hardcore,in your face type rider.

*most as in average joe.

it's funny to me as in my world a bike is a bike.. honda, Kawasaki, Yamaha, Apilia, Mz etc etc.......   strange how some people have to have a brand / team sort of thing going on , then again we're all different  :icon_thumright:

Kawasaki and Suzuki riders usually nutters looking for a buzz and some character, Honda riders just want to stand aound telling everyone they have the best built bikes (I've ownd a couple myself) and Yamaha riders are just deluded  :pottytrain2:

Who cares as long as we're all on two wheels sticking it to da man ??

Must confess to having a bit of an aversion to Hondas.

I put it down to when I first got interested in bikes back in the 70s, Kawasaki, Yamaha & Suzuki were all doing mad, bad & dangerous 2-smoke 250s  which were the ride of choice of any normal (read hormonally inbalanced) 17 year old whilst Honda gave the world the Superdream which was the choice of those nice boys who dreamt of being account clerks & still had their Y-fronts bought for them by their mothers....  :tongue3:

That plus the fact that Honda were so anti 2-stroke & even had the advertising slogan 'you meet the nicest people on a Honda'  FFS I was a 17 year old punk, I didn't want to be associated with anything that would make people think I was nice !!!

Never really gotten over it to be honest.....
