Right then, just done a little digging.
As a result of many of the airfields having noise abaitment notices served on them, it would appear that Brunters are playing it safe (er) and being selective with what they are allowing to run at the facility. It also seems that a noise limit of 98dB has been imposed in an attempt to keep the local complainants happy. (This is what I have been told and I have no reason to doubt the scource).
Its happened already at Elvington where F1 have been banned from testing. All events are subject to approval by the local council or parish council, and the facility can use one end  of the runway or the other, the full runway comes under quite strict nosie emission limitations.
East Kirkby, where Jimmy Fireblade normal goes is  also under fire from local pressure and as such Straightliners are running to the same limits they run at all events appart from Santa Pod and Avon park.
The limits at Straightliners events it would appear are also being used by some other venues and organisers.
The limits are 105dB for streetbikes and 112dB for full on race bikes.

Brunters may be flexible but I doubt they are going to move much. Good luck with getting it sorted.

and a Vulcan bomber is 98db ?? me thinks not, thats wha tis stationed at Brunters, ok it doesn't fly often. but they still run it up.

Yeah and the airliners flying into and out of East Midlands airport are slightly more than 98dB too; but Donington still has to work to noise restrictions and complaints from the locals (quite what they're going to think when the F1 goes there I don't know).

I know it all goes against common sense, you move next to an air field or race track and you expect a bit of noise, some people don't want any noise at all and just complain. To be fair venue owners to a degree have become a little greedy and insensitive to locals. At one time places like Elvington were mainly used at weekends for motor sport. Then F1 and other mototsport teams wanted to use the place in the week, GT car teams wanted to test through the night, and whilst we love the sound of any high performance engine I would think after a time it would become tiresome. Most of us like rock music but if your niegbour had the sound system at 11 most nights you would get a little bothered by it.
And like you say Shongololo they still run up some of the old aircraft from time to time, but it is after all an airfield not a motor sports center.
Its a pain in the butt that a few people can bugger up a great weekends fun at the track because they moved in to the area and the call the shots on what can take place even though its a years old established activity. The E.A. has to by European law act on all complaints. Now don't get me started on European law, and health and safety AAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Well put Phil  I hear you and can't gasp it I was at Donny  2 weeks ago on a quiet day wiht planes coming and going. and I have noisy neighbours as well.
