i love it when someone stands up too these thieving little feckers and gives em a taste of there own medicine, well done 24-7 ! :hello2: :headbang:i bet the little bastard is pleading his innocence and telling everyone who listens how hard done too he,s been as we speak. chances are he wont go to the police though. after all if they trace it too you you will have to give a full statement as to your motives.

yep , and I have no choice but to surrender IP information to police officials  :emb:

and what exactly are they going to do with that IP information, the ISP's dont legally have to give the police the customers details linked to that ip address and they usually dont ... YET

also do you not routinely purge the ip adress info as there is no reason to keep it except to waste space, so if they come, nothing to show, i certainly dont have ip logs for my locally hosted web sites

sorry your wrong.... I work for an ISP .... if the police ask for customer details we have to surrender .... if they have just cause ... or a warrent for the information.

as for keeping IP's there is no option to purge IP's on here , they are logged with the post for all time  :dontknow:

damn, that must be a fairly new rule in the uk as i always thought it was just isps voluntarily giving customer details to the police hence all the problem getting people downloading with torrents, pedos etc.

Here in holland it is not allowed for the police to ask details from the isp's and has stood up in several court cases as it is completely circumstantial evidence as somebody could be logged onto your wifi, spoofing your ip addres etc

also anythign that is logged can be purged, i am not sure how it is logged on this forum if its in a database a simple update statement should work and if its in files ala a unix/linux sustem then removal via a mask is possible

(i'm not for a second critisizing you for not doing this as i am aware its normal not to on small to medium sites, but i have done this sort of thing for big clients such as vodafone and nintendo regularly)

Now that i agree with, anything to thwart spamming bastards :) I think that they should be second on the list after pedos for prossecution and a damned good beating, spammers cause problems for everyone yet its downloaders who only effect a few of the very rich that get kicked, typical eh [rofl] [rofl]

Nah you will be fine mate.....most of the coppers I've dealt with couldn't catch a cold......they're lazy as fuck and in my case they took an average of about 14 days to respond to my e-mails asking if they had arrested the little shitbag......don't imagine they are going to be smart enough to bother following up on a Forum.

Although as a man who's business was once sued....a good rule of thumb is never write anything sensitive down and e-mails and SMS messages do last forever and will turn up in a court room.....

This thread reminds me of an episode of the Simpsons......can't remember the context but a classic line from Homer sticks in my head......

"THERE'S NO JUSTICE..................LIKE ANGRY MOB JUSTICE!!!"

Beautiful

In 2008 team 24-7 were sent to prison for a crime they did`nt commit ,
these men promptly escaped from the local prison,
today still wanted by the government, they survive as solders of fortune,
if you have a problem call 24-7 race bike bitz.
