Why do rabbits leap over white lines?

?
Had the most tremendous hoon today, 160 miles of bends, A71-A70- A72- A701 to Moffat, A708 St. Mary's Loch & Yarrow Valley to Selkirk, A72 to Peebles, then home via Edinburgh. Anyway, I swear I must have seen about a dozen rabbits cross the roads I was on, and every time they came up to the white lines or cats eyes, the little beggers leap over them as if they were fences.

Anyway, one of the best routes for wearing out the sides of your tyres, any guys from geordieland ain't that far away, should give it a try if you've not already done so. Can be busy with plod on bikes though. Couple of unmarked pans and a sportsbike were doing the rounds last year.
The whole of Scotland is one big track really, if only the weather was as good as the roads.

Anyone comes up with the answer to the bunny question wins a night out with my mother-in-law.
