Round the corner is relative - Jacket and some Draggin jeans is easy and doean't take that long. I wear my jeans in the office so I can ride into work but Its less than a mile to my place so I don't want to fuck about with leathers, etc. BUT I still wear a leather jacket, gloves and short boots.
Skin will only grow back to a certain extent - lose too much and it leaves a big hole.

I'm sure most people are aware of that mate. You just weigh up the risks against the benefits. Otherwise you'd never leave the house and sleep in an oxygen tent ;)

Its a long way from worrying about catching an airborne bacteria to riding a 1000cc psycho machine with the soul of the devil implanted in it tho

I have to wear a suit to work so just pull on a pair of fabric dianese trousers over the top and a leather jacket (i should really get the fabric jacket to zip into the trousers but frankly i'm too scottish :))  I do way too many wheelies and stoppies every time i am on the bike so the risk jumps a bit higher as well [rofl]

But that's the individuals look out. I really cant understand why there is so much anger  at riders who choose to wear what they want. When i lived abroad i'd occasionally ride the R1 without a helmet

i guess the anger(not from me) comes from the fact every time a motorcyclist gets splatted and is not wearing protective clothing it hits all the headlines and all bikers are branded irresponsible fools giving the government more excuses to introduce more dumb laws, fines, speed limits/cameras etc

The law states that you must wear a helmet, that's it as far as safety equipment goes. You judge an irresponsible fool by how he rides not what he wears

That is indeed the way i see it and the way it should be unfortunately not the way it is.

The public as a whole get whipped up into modern day witch hunts by the media then the government makes knee-jerk reactions to win the popular vote(which goes no-where to running the country).  The same people who get led into the witch hunt usually complain about the result as well.  Individual people that you meet tend to be pretty cool and smart but as a whole they are extremely stuupid - think lemmings jumping off a cliff

Just my 2p worth but they reckon the no1 biking accident rate is with riders doing that 5 minute trip down the road who decide to don the jeans and trainers.. Still cant believe that the one day in over 6 years that i,m not wearing my leathers and riding inborrowed kit ....i have an accident.... :dontknow: Life is full of if`s and buts, but i am 100% shure that if i had my leathers on i would still have the skin left on me shoulders. No lecture guys but worth a thought.....Ain,t it?

I remember years ago on my old 400RR i got pulled. The copper came over and said you have not done anything wrong but i noticed you are wearing trainers! End of it was my choice and i no the risks. Now a days i'll wear boots of some kind or other and jeans for local pop to tesco type stuff.
