has anybody tried using this?

Its for a windows mobile phone with gps, It will take gps reference points and speeds etc which can be plotted on google maps either real time or store it in a file to upload later.
I was planning on sticking it on my phone and packing the phone into my tail unit when at the track then seeing what my speeds where at various points around the track.

I looked more into this last night and as well as updating everythign online on a web page(in real time) you can also do it all offline to a kmt file and open that with google maps, so in answer to your question, do it the second way then its just for you.

Altho i am sure glen could add the functionality to this website so comparisons could be made etc(they give you the php install file ,

Also like tomtom it has a find a friend feature so if someone you know is out for a hoon near you it will tell you(if they of course have theirs turned on) which could allow members to find each other instead of just missing each otehr at track days and general rides like seams to happen a lot.

I ment to use it today on the way to work but forgot but will try and use it ont he way home and post the results as to how good or bad it is.

ok if anyone is interested, i took a leisurely ride on the bike to test the thing out.  It worked wuite well, i set it to record my position speed etc every 2 seconds and set off, here is the kml file that it created which can be opened in google earth, there are little yellow markers which if you click on it will give you the speed etc. i can totally see it being usefull on a track and its free.

ps i think the speed reading is out by quite a bit cause i am sure i never broke any speed limits  


it appears u cant attach kml files on this forum however so i have just stuck it on mine

right click on the file and pick save as

also thinking about it this could also make a pretty good and relatively cheap gps tracking device incase ur bike gets stolen

I have got a little garmin watch, which calculates speed, distance, time, heart rate, incline, decline etc. I have used it a few times when out for a ride with yogi and si. You and attach it to your headstock press start and your off. I can download the program to the laptop/ pc and it will show the route etc. It also compares with the last lap. I used it on my donny trackday to see what my heart rate was............fook at one point I think I flatlined...
Its also pretty good for setting in kmh for when you are over in Europe. Also for more accurate Mph.

yea man, works pretty well too, altho i forgot to bring my phone to zandvoort on thurs i have used it back and forth to work etc and seams to work really well obviously you need gps capability either bluetooth dongle or internal

you also need to install Microsoft Compact Framework 3.5 Download and SQL Server Mobile 3.5, its all available  on the first link

so when using it on track,does it plot the track out for you after yoy went round,and then after each lap,showing the different lines and speeds?,sounds like a fun toy
