Cheers for all the replies guys. I kinda knew you were all gonna recommend going to the gym but i know it would be too much hassle and commitment for me. I really don't want to commit to a monthly expense as i GUARANTEE i will not go as much as to get my monies worth.

Over the past few months i have been doing press ups and sit ups pretty much everyday for 20 mins or so (i know that prob sounds shit to you but it has made a difference) and been curbing the shit that i eat (or at least saving it for the weekends!!) Anyhow, i've seen an improvement and feel better etc etc but just thought i would buy some dumbells to add to my little "routine" but that's all i'm looking for really.

So the real questions is, which weights are gonna be best for me? Obviously i would prefer too heavy than too light so 20kgs a side do ok you lot reckon??

As been said 20kg a side is way too much,go to a local sports shop...JB sports and buy there stuff, get various weights 2.5kg,5kg.7.5kg and 10kg[all times 2],get yourself 2 or 1 1" dumbells and give that a crack!!  :icon_thumright:

If you work shifts like afew guys on here going to the gym can be a real chore! No matter how much you enjoy it once you are there. I have the best of both worlds i have a gym at work i can use and have weights at home. The truth is after a 12 hour shift days or nights last thing i want to do is however long training. It is a life style change that includes diet, training and eveything else in your day today life. Good luck Plenty of site for hints and tips along with the guys on here to help you along the way.

We have a pay as you train gym locally that could be an option for you. No monthly fee just pay as you go.
