Garden Workout!!
« on: July 17, 2008, 09:30:09 PM »

Well bugger me....

I've now done two days worth of work in the garden and I don't think there's a single muscle that doesn't hurt in my body

You don't need to spend shedloads on a gym membership....Just get out the fork, spade and wheel barrow  [rofl]

Although it's now gone from this....

To something like this....

I really hate fooking Ivy and other climbing plants  [wall] The state of the fence panels due to that crap growing through them and on them is unbelievable! What do you reckon our chances are of getting the landlord to renew them all?

What you can't see in those pics are the huge flowering plant things that were growing in the bottom left of the garden...Rotax has already put them through the chipper so I've got some nice bark chippings to fork into the soil  ;-)

We've got rid of two trailer loads of crap that were in the garage from the previous occupants, we ended up putting all that behind the garage so we could get our bikes in there and Rotax's shyte belongings  [rofl]

I think we're doing ok to say that I started doing all this yesterday on a whim  :emb:

Can't wait til it's all bloody finished though

Sorry...

I forgot to mention that all this has started because of a party we're having on Sunday for a few mates who are then going to do a track day at Silverstone on Monday

There you go...it's now got a biking twist.....Better?

Tell me that you're free this weekend?

 [rofl] [rofl]

(Actually, don't tell anyone but I'm actually quite enjoying it, there's a certain sense of satisfaction that comes from taking one overgrown tip and replacing it with something resembling a proper garden  )

it's just the right size and was a mess when I moved in ahem 8 years ago  :emb:  so I thought I'd fill the bottom bit with sheds for no reason  [rofl] [rofl] [rofl]  my dream is to replace theose with one big fekker and have a pool table down there  :headbang:  but we'll see  [whistle]

it's relaxing to potter around in the garden and there's always something to do like just changing stuff for the hell of it and we've got a brook running under the lower bit that exits to the left, weird eh ? but does sound nice and relaxing sort of thing . Even sorted the greenhouse (no comments PSG) and have some Tommy Artoes going for it in there :icon_thumright:

It takes time to get a garden nice and once it's done it's worth every minute, well I think so  :icon_thumright:

we get Badgers coming in the evenings too and they dig it sometimes but that's life and they were here before me and a bloody mole now and then but he ain't made it to the top bit so far thankfully  ;-)

I'd welcome a mole or two as long as they dug the flowerbeds for me  [rofl]

I've never had a decent garden before so this is me enjoying the novelty of it all for a few months  :emb:

Mind you, when I sent my Mum an email last night and I found myself telling her about my Dephiniums that I'm going to be sowing in one corner of the garden, I had to give myself a mental slap

I can't wait until there's some colour in the garden so I can sit here on my PC and look out the French doors and actually enjoy the view  :emb:

I'm even coaxing the couple of weedy looking trees we've got to stop growing upwards and start growing outwards  [rofl]

Plus the over grown rose bushes have been trimmed right down to the ground and there's some nice new growth showing and I even got four rose buds showing  :icon_thumright: Only downside is the bloody flowers are PINK!!!  :crybaby2:

I love it when I look round and see new shoots and buds appearing.....

I reckon there's no hope for me now  :emb: :emb:

Hmmmm wonder what he'd say to a water feature  >:D

Looking good their BC and AndyJ

I'm also found of playing in the garden for hours on end when the sun comes out!  Cant beat it in my mind.  Also the dog loves it and it beats sitting in doors !  Mine hadn't been touched in about 10 years when I moved it -- took nearly 2 years just to make it look respectable - cut hedges etc.

Looking much better but still a very long way to go !!

wow, you are really stoking the fire there, i think everyone had temporarily forgotten about the pink thing :) so i guess you will be sitting in the garden with your pink flowers with a pink sunset wearing your pink wellies with daisies on them (coloured pink i am sure) drinking a hogarden rose (pink beer) polishing your pink one ...
