 i met him last night in the royal oak in loughborough, he,s up at mallory riding the smc? honda and in the R1 cup. nice bloke but he was slaughtered! told me he was now skint and an alcoholic :occasion14:shame really he always had the talent but never quite used it properly.

He was with Fastbikes before he went racing,he used to be a motorcycle courier,became a journalist[of sorts] and followed his brother Jay into racing with the backing of fastbikes!!
Shakey also got his first major ride through Fastbikes!!

I was one of Sean,s mecanic,s for two years, yes he is one of the most naturaly talanted riders to come out of the UK , but he refused to work at it, refused to train and refused to stay out of the pub when he should have been in the gym. But he is a great guy ,alot of fun and he has done more things in his life that what most of us can only dream of. And believe me he will have been in the pub on sat night before the race out of his face.He could have run for a world championship in his younger day. Shame

and as far as the R1 cup riders go it might be boring to watch but there are some quick riders in there,none of which you could run with so stop talking like a trackday hero.
if you were that quick you would be racing.

Mr T I am not joining in with this argument but there are some very fast lads about that don't race. There are also some very slow racers      ( i am soon to be one of them  )

Sticking a number on a bike does not make you fast anymore than riding track days means you are labeled "not as fast as a racer"

Why am i talking like a trackday hero then? I dont race cause a cant afford 10K a year on racing, simple as.

Check the times for yourself. Last place best lap of 1.05 with charlies chicane, charlies adds 5 seconds to a good rider so that 1.00 dead on a new r1 on slicks. Yeah i could run that, could'nt you

When you think about your lap times,most of the time[read all da time  ] you are up against slower traffic,so in theory you could knock off a good 2/3 seconds......maybe 4?....off of your times........Soooooo my brands Indy times the last time i was there on my spanky new 10R were 58 seconds[excuses now  not used to bike as i had a TLR before the 10R].......now,in theory on a clear circuit i could have been banging out 54...55 second laps.....?....Dunno....opinions?

Now....now that i have had the 10R for 3 years and i am dialed into the 10R and it to me......in theory i should...i repeat should be quicker,but by how much would you say?......Am i to be slaughtered here or is the a fair theory going on here?
