MCS Paisley
« on: June 26, 2008, 08:29:30 PM »

Hi All,

My 10 needs a 4000 mile service (overdue) I would take it to Perth Motorcycles where I bought it, but they are well booked up. Anyone used MCS in Paisley, heard some mixed reports about them TBH. Going back down to Scarbo' for the Cock O The North shortly so that would take me over 5K. Rather get it serviced before I went.

Any input would be appreciated.

According to my local dealer the 4000 mile service is only oil and oil filter and an all round check of the running gear. eg Brakes and brake fluid, tyres and wheels, chain and sprockets and suspension.

No air filter or plugs they get done at 8000.

I must admit to being more than a bit pissed off when they asked for 123 beer tokens for their endeavours...............

It was the warranty side of things I was more worried about, you know, problems later....ah but you were late with your service..blah..blah.
I really grudge giving anybody money to do any work on my bike (or cars) as i'm a dab hand wi the spanners meself.
Does the oil get changed in a 4k serviceon the 10?
I think i'll change it before Scarbo' anyway.
