Forgive me father for I have sinned.............
« on: June 07, 2008, 05:54:27 PM »

As some of you may know already, next Saturday (14th) I am taking a ZZR14 out on test ride..... however, I have also committed an act of heresy by booking a test ride on a Hiyabusa.  I am obviously going to have to take whatever punishment the forum see's fit to meter out!

Having studied both 08 models side by side in the showroom today, I have reached the following conclusions:

ZZR1400

Pros: (1) It's a Kawaskai  (2) nice rear end (3) fast.
Cons: (1) Seat height a little high (despite being 5'8") I can not put feet flat to floor (2) Bike trim generally a bit 'plasticy' (3) a bit wide at the front end

Hiyabusa

Pros: (1) Nice finish (2) good dash/display (3) seat height very good for me, felt very comfortable seat also (4) very sleek front end (5) fast
Cons: (1) rear end (although this is growing on me especially once cans are changed) (2) heard can be prone to rust(?) (3) buying one is the fastest way of losing lots of Kwaka friends.

Any constructive comments would be most welcome, however if you feel I should be punished for even thinking of the Hiyabusa, please advise a suitable punishment.

I think both are lovely...however its the ZZR for me...think they look great with those headlights....but again...similar to some women...great face....h'ugly ass!

The new GTR1400 looks lovely...if you want something a little more tourer...bet they're all fab on long journeys...I have to remind myself after a 300 mile round trip commute to work why I ride sportsbikes  :icon_scratch:

I like the ZZR14 and would deffo have one!!
Busa...if i was to buy a Busa it would not be the new one i would get the older one as it looks better and aint far off on the performance front!!

ZZR for me, love the front end looks and imo they didnt do enough with the busa in this years update in the looks dept to bring it up to date. performance wise i dont think i would be dissapointed with either so how they look is important.

Depends what you want it for?
The GTR is insane for what it is. I rode one the other week and if I can find the right deal there might be one next to the 10r!

I have  a race busa on a 99 plate and enjoyed riding it as a road bike but the missus wont let me use it on the road any more so a brought another busa on a 05 plate at the end of 07 with 2800 miles on it for 5k its a craking bike and is capable of big miles at steady or high speeds with ease. Its also capable of keeping up with most sports bikes if you really want to without to much fuss. They are also quite low so moving them around is a bit easier than with the ZZR.
I know mine isnt one of the new ones but Im sure they have made it better not worse.
Only thing is that back end, but its like when the busa first came out we all thought it ugly, some still do but they grow on you after a while.
