arai side pods?
« on: June 05, 2008, 06:55:44 AM »

Went out last night and noticed the one side pod on my Arai Viper GT had a small crack in it on the bottom edge. It seemed ok so forgot about it. Whilst was out , i lifted the visor at a junction and it pooped out the other side? Pulled over and the otherside had cracked and the small tab that clicks it in place had broke off?? Have ordered some new ones online but wondered if anyone else has had any trouble with thier Arai's ? Have lost a pod in the past a few years back but not broke both of them? Its a dark visor and wondered if it was thicker than standard but it is a genuine Arai one and looks to be fitted correctly? :icon_scratch:

Yes this as happened to my side pods too! I use a dark visor & it does seem a little thicker than the clear one.

The lilltle plastic tab isnt really up to the job so i support the side pod with my hand when replacing/remove.

Also a drop of silicone out of the sm bottle that comes with the helmet round the "c" part of the visor helps it go in n out easier  :icon_thumright:
