stinky helmet
« on: June 04, 2008, 05:50:29 PM »

No pun intended  [rofl]

Following a trackday on Monday at Silverstone  :icon_thumright: My helmet lining is smelly and damp and i need to get its washed, however its does not have a removable lining.

Its an early AGV rossi rep  :icon_scratch:

Any suggestions on washing my lid?

As above.. took mine into the shower with a bottle of baby shampoo..

Then stood it upside down in in the shade in the conservatory for a couple of days, dried out fine. Did do the removable lining bit separately, but the cheek pads needed doing too

Was a bit nervous to start with, but wouldn't hesitate to do it again now.

Shampoo has come in handy for washing a dog once too (prob not a great idea), but also leads visitors to the house to ask some odd questions  :emb:

I use Muc-Off foam cleaner,

Put it in before i go to sleep and then its dry by the morning. The smell had gone  & seemed to revive the pads thickness aswell so i'd recommend it.
