The oxfords fit ok without touching the exhausts. They're just a pain to fit. The straps go over and under the seat and you need to bungee everywhere as well. Got both but only use the oxfords if the missus is on the back.
The cargobag is the best. 4 straps and 60secs, carry more than the 2 panniers together and cheaper too.

Edit: I see you said exhaust protectors - i haven't got those anymore as i have akrapovic's fitted - will this be a problem mate??

Dont know how hot ak's get. as i said never used them. Hammy is right-they are pain to fit but look quite solid.u can take them for a quick check and if ur happy thats ok. if not u wont take them-im not bothered at the moment.
