thats if u just want a top quality finish like glenn has , if u just use the bmw cosmos , it will be just primer then paint ..then laquer if wanted a better finish ,but for a track bike i wouldnt bother

Halfords paint in shit. I mean proper shit.

Find a good paint shop in the yellow pages, it'll be cheaper and better paint. Most places can put anything in spray can's these days.

A good paint job is 60% prep anyway. Make sure all the surfaces are keyed properly & are totally free of dirt & grime. If your paiting onto gel coat, you can paint stright onto it, i have in the past, but its not very strong, i'd etch primer it first and then paint.
