thats if u just want a top quality finish like glenn has , if u just use the bmw cosmos , it will be just primer then paint ..then laquer if wanted a better finish ,but for a track bike i wouldnt bother  :roll:

Keep all these tips coming as I'm planning on Spraying my own bike some time in the future, after I've repaired the scratches etc.

fook that what about the road is`nt that more dangerous. surely you chances are better on a track?

just me but i`d rather have a dog bike for the road and a mint race bike!

Halfords paint in shit. I mean proper shit.

Find a good paint shop in the yellow pages, it'll be cheaper and better paint. Most places can put anything in spray can's these days.

A good paint job is 60% prep anyway. Make sure all the surfaces are keyed properly & are totally free of dirt & grime. If your paiting onto gel coat, you can paint stright onto it, i have in the past, but its not very strong, i'd etch primer it first and then paint.
