congrats on the can Jason, it looks terrific mate.
Leave him alone about the indicators, I say that cos mine are as big, (just trying to ease the slagging I will get when I post up my pics tomorrow) and yeah unfortunately I choose the evotech tidy with the holes for standard indicators so I am fcuked now if I am going to get another tidy with smaller holes, I will just paint the glass black and blend them in, lol.
Jason, I just went with a Racefit in the end.

Cheers
John

i got an evotech waiting to go on mine when i pick her up later, has standard holes ( i preffer them too!) but you can get fitting plates for smaller indicators so no need for a new tidy mate... think motrax make them

Cheers Drew,
shit now I have no excuses for the elephant ears. Anyway the lights pale into insignifcance compared with the stanard license plate, haha.
congrats on your new bike mate. better get down the gym to build up your wrist muscles, this new bike is worse on the wrists than the old one. The rear is lifted up and seat is canted much more forward on 08. No wonder some people have problems with tank paint wear, my balls seem to be permanently wrapped around the tank. I have some stomp coming so hopefully that will give me some extra grip on the sides to take the weight off the wrists.

cheers
John

Jason,
It's starting to bug the shit out of me to be honest. I love to keep a mint bike, it's part of the enjoyment I get, so it's a bit pish this paint thing.
I got a tank pad pretty quick, but at the edges of the tank pad and also a fair amount on the sides it's wearing. I have been trying to clean and polishing it with safe cut and autoglym, but I am concerned it will get to point where I cannot make it acceptable to me. Hence getting stomp pronto, but I am sure that won't completely isolate the odd contact spot on the rear of tank.
Sorry this sounds all a bit anal, but my eye goes to it all the time now.
I know some guys complained about the paint on the 06 or 07. Don't no if it stems from the change of colour to more solid ebony. Mine has flakes in it, but it's not as metalic as the 05 ebony.
Of course what is making things worse I think is that I am continually slipping down the seat and making far more contact with the tank than previous bike. The shape of the new tank certainly has more contact points than 05. In some ways this is good as it makes you feel more part of the bike, but downside is more contact with the paint !!.
My old bike, the tank was almost mint after nearly 3 years and had no stomp or tank pads on the sides at all.
this one I only got just over 600 miles on it and it has more wear already.
Anyway this should have been put in the whinging and Victor Meldrew section probably.

Cheers
John

the 05 bike Black was called Metallic Black Spark  (not ebony)

I have just had mine resprayed and I am sh*tting it that this might happen to me now..... although normally when a person sprays a bike the paint is a lot thicker than when a machine sprays it  B-)
