Cleaning Leathers - Product Recommendations
« on: May 13, 2008, 04:52:31 PM »

Both my leather suits are now a bit filthy.. the two piece I let a mate use at Cadwell, and he decided to fall off in the grass while wearing it.. very muddy and the git refuses to clean them - mates!

The other is covered in dead flies.

What products does anyone use to clean and feed their leathers?

I clean mine with baby wipes , I try not to use really moist ones though....  B-)

If I want to recondition leather boots  I would use beeswax ... not sure if you can do the same for leather clothing but I can't see why not....

Did mine the other month with Nikwax Leather Cleaner then Nikwax Leather Restorer  :icon_thumright:

Leather seems ok and got a lot of dirt and crap off. Haven't figured out how I'm going to do the inside yet... :icon_scratch:

[wall] [wall] Typical - my Spyke doesn't. Think I'll have to send it away at the end of the season for a clean

My A*s two piece and Spidi one piece don't have removable inners.. hadn't even considered the inners.

Maybe it would be easier to get one of those inner gimp suit things to wear under..

Like Dave, nikwax leather cleaner/restorer. If you have any tight areas there is a product called leather stretch, spray on and wear suit helps areas give were needed. EDZ undersuit makes life alot more comfortable and helps getting leathers on/off :icon_thumright:

Guys,
Guess you could use these products on Kangaroo as well, at the moment just using a damp cloth.

Cheers

Wear a vented motocross shirt over your leathers in the summer. Keeps all the dead flies off your leathers and you can throw it in the washing machine after every ride
