99% of people won't touch a bike thats resprayed as they instantly think its been dropped or gone down the road?
even if you tell them it hasn't they will expect a %off or a low price so beware???
its good to have a bike with a one off spray job but resale can be a bitch?

Bit of a hard one that!!!
I have in the past had my bikes sprayed up just to be different!!....so there must be a load of likeminded people like me!!
On the otherhand....yeah it is.......was gonna say cheaper but is it?........some racerep jobs would set you back over a grand!!!!
And when youve had a spill....you can just pick up some panels or whatever.....but i suppose its what sort of damage youve done.....anyway i voted for the be different vote.......waffle...waffle..waffle........waff.....le.....

It's the same warped thought process as polished frames ! Most think you've binned it and had it polished to get the scratches out or something !

Be different. You'll enjoy it and shouldn't worry about the bike being worth a bit less. It's a worthwhile price !

Paint a bike / rebuild the bike... dont matter if i went to buy a bike i know if something was not right or if it had been down the road!!!

the only time you cant tell is if who ever rebuilds it throws loadsa dosh on it to get it sparkling?
But on average that costs more than the bike is worth, the guy who rebuilds is looking for a quick sale so he wont take notice of the finer points and contrate on the main like paint, pegs, bar end etc so there will always be the small detail and if you no what to look for then you can spot a messed bike a mile away.

But the way i am is idont like to see bikes the same, i mean i like to see them personel to the owner.

so in response to all make it your own... hell you bought it for that reason :icon_thumright:

come on G you're minted  :dontknow:            A lot of guys like their bikes to be individual and a small off usually brings on the individualism, if the off was small and a lot of attention has gone into the build where's the problem anyhow ?

I think either case is possible. I know this doesnt help. Depending up what damage is done after a spill, any DECENT paint shop should be able to match colours so there is no need for a full respary. I think you would have to look at the owner and very carefully the small details of the bike. The reason why custom paint jobs can devalue a bike is beacuse it is someones personnal taste, or in the case os race reps, they can change from year year to the next.

I'm all for resprays, it's my pride and joy and want to personalise to suit me.
