Rear Tyre for a c1h
« on: May 06, 2008, 11:19:04 PM »

Hi guys/gals.

I've searched the net and cannot seem to find out whether a 190 rear tyre will fit my 2005 zx6r c1h.

It currently has a 180 rear and that is the standard size but id like to know if a 190 fits. So has anyone tried this or has anyone heard anything about this size?
Cheers

Jay

I've not tried it on mine yet, but I don't see that it should cause to much of a problem judging by the distances available between the swingarm and the rear hugger.

Just out of interest Jay, why do you want to put a 190 on ?

Well i have a pair of tyres at home and i desperately need to replace the front tyre on my bike but the pair that on the bike are totally different to the pair that are sitting in the garage and i don't want to mix the two sets.

The rim size is a 5.5

Do you mean your Dad has a set in the garage Jay  ;-)

Yeah a 190 wil fit on a 5.5" rim.

I run a 180/60 on my old B2 and it felt awesome compared to a 180/55 but i never run a 190 so i can't coment really. It will fit though but not sure how it will ride. Is it a 190/50 or a 190/55?

:tongue3: Yeah i did mean my dad has a set (at least i'd get the miles out of the tyres) & I believe it is a 190/55.

Cool, glad to know it would fit, i don't have a hugger (Great fun in the rain, my bike is like a mobile water feature spraying water 6-8 feet high) so the clearance for that isn't an issue at the moment.

I know that the tyres would look alot nicer on grey wheels rather than the pink ones they could go on but now i'm just wondering how the 190 would ride compared to the 180.

I would just try it..... as long as you have a tyre guy that doesn't charge the earth there will be no harm in just changin it back if not very nice  :dontknow:
