I reckon that racin and track days are all in your head.  :icon_scratch:
If tyre warmers make you more confident, then thats great. If you think that they make your tyres last longer, fair play.
Personally - there is always somebody thats faster out there and thats just because they are plain fuckin quick, there is probably far more to be gained from improving my own ability and that wont cost me a penny ! Also - if tyre warmers reduce the number of heat cycles, why does everyone fit new tyres each time the get off the bike ? :icon_study:
Sayin that I'm glad they do, cos we wouldn't get cheap scrubs if they didn't.  :icon_thumright:

I didn't mean slicks Twonk, thats serious stuff for serious racers. I meant treaded tyres like the ones you named.
You also agreed with me by saying that it could take people 2 or 3 laps to gain confidence in their tyres, this is what I meant by saying it's in your head.
I have got a set of warmers from when I raced on KR364's back in the day and the number of times I got to the pit lane only to find I had to wait before we were allowed on track...... but when the lights went green it didn't stop anybody from going balls out straight away. If I ever go racing again I will use em' but not at a track day.
My point bein that if Rossi turned up at a track day on an identical bike to mine, he would piss off into the distance before I made it out of pit lane and thats not because of tyre warmers.

each to their own

Too true about the racing thing, the amount of times i;ve been held up in the holding area is ridiculas, so much so i started  setting up near the holding area so i could see when people where being let out onto track and i would wip off the tyre warmers then and race down. all good fun!

Plenty of people now run slicks at trackdays, infact your probably better running slicks on dry days as they wear better than treaded tyres. Most people seem to run dot tyres at trackdays now, i guess those scubs keep getting cheaper ;)

There are plenty of rossi's on trackdays... actually no, there are plenty of people at trackdays that think they are rossi!
