This is the best I can do for a Z650 and Z1. Oh and I'm the one with the dull CBR on the end.

I had the silver and blue CB900, I called it the Wanderer cos it wouldn't hold a line.  Even Koni dial-a-ride shocks, Davida Moto box section swingarm with bracing and a Technoflex fork brace didn't help.  It still looks good though.

Looking at the pic of the RD250 you can see what I mean by sitting on top of it, on a park bench seat.

When the Z1 came out me and my mates were outside the Empress club in New Brighton and there were two parked outside, one with the keys in the ignition , talk about temptation, we handed them in to the bloke on the door but I often wonder what it would have been like to ride.

Those wheels came in that colour. I didnt have them painted. Though I do look back and wonder why I choose that colour as I bought the bike brand new.

yes, my mate had one and RD250E in white, white seat and all and nice pipes, it was a lovely bike, I did have a go on it when I had an MBX125 and fuck me you are exactly right it really was a seat and tank in one just like sitting on a park bench like you say....

Hey Andy, I remember all your old bikes, you loved them so much you havnt got any of them now  :crybaby2: shame really you kept them real nice.
I remember them bloody pipes on your LC, fooookin ell they were loud and didn't you let us all know it.    they could make your ears bleed, just glad my 350 was faster than your 250, no way did I want to get stuck behind that. :pottytrain2:
I still have my Z650 from when I was 18, and the EXUP I brought when I was 24, amazing the stuff you hang on to.
Had some great times riding racing round the roads in the olden days with Andy, safest guy I ever rode with.
Im sure I have some pix around some where.
Great topic  :hello2:

When was the last time anyone saw a Kork Ballington Kawasaki Z250 twin?  That had to be the best looking four stroke 250 ever made.  It's funny how the Superdream still rattles on, but you never see any of the really good bikes, although the Kawasaki had an annoying habit of stripping the teeth off the oil pump drive if I remember right.

When the Z650 was out everyone raved about the Yamaha XJ650, nowadays the Z is a classic and the XJ is landfill, it's funny how some bikes are just right and others miss the mark.

yes Phil,   mine was nicest though.. I did get a 350 in later years but seized it and sold it for spares, I swapped the KX250 for it, remember, the one you fell off hahahhahahah  and don't start blaming the suspension as I managed ok  [whistle]  :icon_thumright:   ok there was little oil in those forks but like I said I managed ok well except for the shock when the fuckers bottomed regularly ouch.............

and yes you have that Zed and the Xup and what great times we had in the late 80's, Phil is a fast and smooth rider and a very talented rider for sure, happy memories  :icon_thumright:  bloody hell compliments from me surely not  [wall]

Yes Doug, must admit theat I never liked the XJ, well except my lovely XJ550, a sort of RD350LC sensible bike, as it looked similar to the Elsie.....  how I loved that bike but times move on etc. The XJ650 was a great bike though and know I recall seeing the launch at Dugdales and some poor guy managed to fall off just up from the rideout, they had a few there for the launch, the XJ was a next generation from the Z though hence it being more sought after at the time  :icon_thumright:  but never a classic really  [naughty]

Ok, so who can remember all the silly names the Japaneese used to put on the side of bikes, to tell us the lastest feature about then. I was discussig this with a mate, and we came up with the names used for suspension for Kawasaki (uni-track), Suzuki (Full floater) and Honda (Pro Link). Any one remember any other silly names ?
