Work/Life balance
« on: March 30, 2008, 09:42:52 AM »

Lay in bed last night thinking that once again am a fooking fool for working 7 days a week. On average I do about 50 to 60 lessons a week. I cant say no when a new pupil rings up and am carrying about 55 at the moment. Fortunatly 15 of them are not having lessons at the mo (holidays, failed test`s etc) but will have to make up new days of the week when they get back.

So, how many hours on average do you work a week, is it just us self employed peeps that do the silly hours or what. How do you balance this work/life thingy as mine is just work/work at the moment. My 10, which I got 1st June last year only has 875 miles on it ffs   I want  :brave: :brave:

being self employed i do as least as possible. maybe 35 hours a week depending on customer demand.
i used to spend all week out on the road in a hgv doing up to 80 hours a week (including loading back at the factory) then covering for the transport manager.
hence my now easier life  [whistle]

I've got an easy number !  I'm now self employed with a long term contract.  I work week on week off, so thats 7 dayshifts (12 hr shifts), week off then 7 nightshifts, week off.  Nightshift I do from home so i'm only in the office one week a month  :-P

I'm on nightshift just now, got the works laptop on, telly on, cup of tea and a cigarette   :icon_thumleft:
