Camera vans
« on: March 27, 2008, 10:37:14 AM »

I spend all my working day in my car. Got to thinking that I, over the last 12 months at least, seen a sharp decline in the use of these. Sure, you see the odd Copper checking speeds. Commented about this to a mate and he was not surprised.

Apprantly, the County Councils were the recepiants of the revenue, so they funded the vans and kept the ill gotton gains.

THEN, the Goverment decided the fines should come to them and then the Councils have to apply to the Goverment for grants that are solely related to road saftey.

So, am I being cynical, or does it just prove what a bunch of money grabbing bastards they actually are. Never had much to do with saftey after all. "If we cant keep all the money, we aint gonna fund as many vans" You can imagine the scence

I passed one of the council vans yesterday, I had 26mph on the speedo, for most of the time, but when his mate turned to look at my plate as I passed I got a horrible feeling of nip in the post.  It was hand held, I thought they had them on tripods.
