He is ! - Typical MCN shock horror reporting , honestly I reckon the Sunday Sport hacks even look down on MCN reporters as a disgrace to their industry !

Plod in general, not just traffic have various campaigns during the year, April is quite appropriate for bikes, as if you talk to any experienced bike copper they'll tell you that the time of year they hate the most is that first warmish sunny Sunday of the year when all the summer only riders get the bike out for the first time since last September & proceed to punch holes in hedges the length & breadth of the country.

It's a bit a of a pisser, however on a more positive side, I can see how it would benefit those riders who have not ridden for the last 5 months or so and are just coming out of hibernation now that the weather is improving.

Whether that's why they are supposed to target bikes or not is another thing though, but it could be a move to reduce the number of ring rusty suffering bikers that go down at the begining of the year instead of getting re-aquainted with their bikes.
