Rally Days
« on: March 17, 2008, 11:52:07 AM »

I want to treat my old man when he comes over in December. He's always been pretty handy behind the wheel so I thought we might go do a rally day together. I've looked into a few but they all have a 1:4 car:driver ratio so you end up watching more than driving which is pants.  :-(

Anyone ever done one of these, or know of a good deal?

Don't know if it is still going but I believe the " Bill Gwynn rally school " to be the best available - proper hooning in the Welsh forrests rather that " pretending " in Northants  [whistle]

Try a " Google " for him  :icon_thumright:

Try Phil Price Rally School http://philprice.co.uk/NEWWEB6/index.htm
He's in mid-Wales if I remember rightly.  Did one of his days about 7 years ago, had a fantastic day  :headbang:

How much time did you get behind the wheel? And how many of you were sharing the car?

To be honest as it was so long ago I cannot remember how many to a car it was,  however I never seemed to be stood around for very long between driving stints.  It was an all day session with lunch thrown in.  Whilst a few of you are out on the practice course, Phil is taking somebody around for a high speed spin on the forest rally track.  Seemed to be pretty well organised.  Although I suppose a lot can change over a number of years as things get more popular.  Probably worthwhile giving them a ring and having a chat to them.  Hope you manage to find what you're looking for  :icon_thumright:

I rang them this morning and they sound like exactly what I am looking for. They just need to check and see if they are open on the dates that we want to go (just before xmas).
