Annoys me that my car may be classed as a gas guzzler but I choose to live very close to my place of work in a smaller yet more expensive property. Some of the guys I work with commute over an hour a day each way in a small diesel car. My Car may be 3200cc but it does less than 6000 miles a year so my carbon footprint is a fraction of what it would be if I commuted thousands of miles every year in a low Tax grouped small car.

Same with me....I get the train to work each day........they've just massively reduced the subsidy for that too so the fares will go up about 60% over the next 3 years........it's all hot air.....I wouldn't mind paying high road tax if they actually spent the money on the trains or building better roads........they don't though....it just gets handed out to the bloody chavs....

Apparently the International Olympic Committee have just asked for London to Provide them with 1000 Rolls Royces to ferry them all around during the games.......fucking gravy train or what?.......the only funny think about it is it's got that corrupt, alky wanker Ken Livingston up in arms about it.......

It will lead to more un-insured & untaxed cars being on the road.

Also number cloning crime will go up im sure.

more and more eastern european plates on cars.... one guy i saw was working for domino's using a polish car..... is that legal... i.e is a polish person allowed to deliver using a car that doesn't confirm to UK law for MOT's and on UK insurance database etc while on a UK payroll  :dontknow:...

surely dominos can't cover them for work use either  :dontknow:

Ah well if they are going to charge us such a daft amount to tax our larger engined higher poluting weekend cars we will just have to use them a whole load more to get our moneys worth.

The whole environment issue is a real cash cow for the government. It gives them an excuse to further tax those who have worked hard for the nice things and win the votes of those lazy cnunts my 40% income tax supports while I get nothing whatsoever back from the state and even pay for my own private healthcare. Take away too many incentives to work hard and make something of yourself and soon nobody will want to bother. The countries economy would be hopeless if absolutely everyone just stood with their hand out expecting someone else to feed, cloth and house them.

Maybe I should get a Prius and pretend to be saving the environment like our celeb friends then have a house in every country complete with heated swimming pool sat empty most of the year and fly around the world ten times. It seems in this country you now need to be mega rich or have nothing. The normal person who tried a bit harder and just made that bit extra to have a slightly better standard of living seems to have that extra taken back from him all the time.

To minimise damage to the environment so many factors have to be looked at and quite often things perceived to be green are very poluting in the way they are manufactured, operated or distributed. Flowers seem innocent but are flown in on cargo planes, packed in refridgerated warehouses, distributed in refridgerated lorries. Garden centres full of pot plants grown under lighting in poorly insulated heated environments, Wind turbines likely do more harm to the environment than they save in their construction and transport until they potentially develop over time. As usual we look things that seem obvious to the layman to be big poluters, don't take the amount they are used or in what way into consideration yet tax them to death and forget everything else. Its just like heavily enforcing a speed limit on an open road because its easy to do so then having no resources left to prevent other more likely issues that create accidents.

I agree we should do something about helping the environment but we need to take rational and properly educated decisions. We also need to remember who earns the money which pay the taxes to keep the country afloat. Heavily taxing vehicles which people who have a few extra quid own and will continue to own no matter how expensive will not save the environment only line the governments pockets.

Thing is also , that ok some of use have that extra bit of cash but the government are making it very hard for us to save it..... like tuck says it does go into saving environment.... how the fuck can one insignificant little government do in the whole world .... they can't even help with poverty in its own country let alone cure fucking pollution....

this tax does nothing but bankrupt innocent people and line the governments pockets with more money to stick up more speed camera's and to tax us more  [wall] [wall] [wall]

fucking arse holes :jerk:
