you missing the point yogi... not saying its not worth the money ..... I was saying you can have 2 sets of racetecs off saffie for less than the price of 1 mich's

and racetecs are a better tyre than the 2ct's for track......

I have ractecs on teh zx7r but was not at all happy with them...the front gave way after 10 laps.  Trouble is i know the guy who had the bike before me was a very keen rider and the tyres looked okay but am not convinced they were not over heated or had bee through too many heat cycles.  So i am going to change these ones for new and keep the tyres hot for the whole session so i only get one het cycle for the day...no idea how long these tyres are supposed to last in terms of heatcycles...anyone know the answer to this...tyres are a black art to me... ....

depend how fast you are mate..... I would say between 2 and 4 heat cycles depending on speed ....

if you club speed 2 heat cycles if you inters speed 4 heat cycles 

I have made a read last 4 in the fast group but I am easy on tyres although snetterton chews them up......

  normally get 4 trackdays (with warmers) out of a set...but the fourth day is usually a little iffy as you can feel them not 'sticking' as well.

If you go to Anglesey, that'll eat tyres up too

One of the guys there yesterday, was an ex-tyre tech for Pirelli. He know owns BikeTek who you see at MSV, Hottrax and Focus track days.  Think his name was Dave??  Not sure.

He said, that a good set of tyres should do 6 heat cycles but no more.  He said any more than than and you treading on thin ice.  He said that Racetecs do go off a little quicker and its between 4-6 cycles.

He noticed I had Corsa III's on, and he swears by them. Reckons they are a phenomonal tyre.  I have to say, so far, I agree.  Looking forward to the summer to really give em some stick on the road.  Another comment he made, was that he had some feedback from a few fast boys at track days about the new Avon Viper Extreme who said they are incredible.  Apparently they are formidable force in the tyre war?!

corsa 111's, belive they are single compond front and duel rear.
the stickier rear compound runs for about 1.5inches from edge to centre on both sides.
so a good portion of sticky rubber.


2ct's are dual front and rear, i belive. however the rear sticky band is only about 10mm wide fronm
edge to centre so not much use unless you get the bike right over frequently

i run with corsa 111's, good feel , grip etc and ok in wet. standard corsa better in wet.

so there you have it.

the thing is you can defo see a change in the rubber on the rear from hardish middle to
softish sides on mine. but i cant see a change on the front, and there is only 5mm chiken strip on the front

Mate I got a set last year when they was first release..... they wore out in 500 miles on the rear  to much cold tear I think not sure cause they felt roasting whenever I felt them
