Just put a set of Corsa iiis on mine and I'm v happy with them.  I think they warm up a lot quicker than the oe Dunlops, and fill me with confidence straight away.

To be fair the arctic is doing that as we speak..

it's amazing how a tyre can transform a bike, loved my Corsa III's loads of feel and confidence, although gonna put on some 2CT's for the 1st part of the season, do a couple of trackdays on them and then change to something stickier as the season and my riding comes on song.

corsa 111's, belive they are single compond front and duel rear.
the stickier rear compound runs for about 1.5inches from edge to centre on both sides.
so a good portion of sticky rubber.


2ct's are dual front and rear, i belive. however the rear sticky band is only about 10mm wide fronm
edge to centre so not much use unless you get the bike right over frequently :dontknow:

i run with corsa 111's, good feel , grip etc and ok in wet. standard corsa better in wet.

so there you have it.

thats exactly it EJ mate,

any top range sports/track tyre should do the job. i like a nice tread pattern [rofl]
too much choice realy.

maybe they should only make one brand, then we will all be on the same [rofl] [rofl]

like in bsb level playing field. well as you say diff stokes for diff folks.

You're right, there's so much good rubber available to us at the moment, never had so good have we? The reason for my choice is simple:- I want a tyre thats good for milage,wear and grip in a variety of conditions-road,track and dicking about. Anything more serious for track work then might consider some pilot races/racetecs or summit of that ilk. But ultimately want a tyre for all occassions :icon_thumright:

Yeah agree totally. Tyres these days are brilliant . There's no excuse for manufacturers to   fit poor OE tyres and rubbish suspension as standard

but jay you don't ride in the rain do ya .... so a race tec or super corsa is fine for ya ..... fast road riding and trackday tyre .... I use it in the wet on the road I just don't lean the thing over at speed......

try and keep it in the tread .... and thats only if I get caught out I never purposefully go out in the rain cause its wank  :dontknow:

Just fancy summit dfferent Glenn to be honest, had loads of fun on the III's , even go as bold to say that can't belive that I got three track days out of 'em, especially at Snetterton and Silverstone which are two tracks that cane tyres. (even getting the pace I got on the 3rd trackday at Snetty). I want something simular that'll do the job on track for a couple of times and give us good innings on the road, so i'll try the 2CT's 1st off, then get something stickier for later on in june.

Not read any reviews on them yet, but if the new Bridgestone BT016s are half as good as their advertising hype they'll be pretty good too, triple compound front & quintuple compound rear IIRC (in work, so unable to check advertising blurb as mags at home), they're really playing up the old 'the only competitive tyre in MotoGP' angle !

Silverstone isn't hard on tyres buddy .... far from it .... its about carrying speed not powering out like snetterton ..... you say you got 3 trackdays ...... I have got 2 silverstones and over 2000 miles on my current scrubs (super corsas) 

I have also done for trackdays on a rear scrub before ...... and I go ok.....

do what you want to but if your gonna wanna do loadsa trackdays I would just get some scrubs for 70 quid off saffieD they will be good for 2/3 trackdays and 1000 road miles you can buy 2 sets cheap than you can buy 1 new set of 2 CT's  :icon_thumleft:

Valid point matey  :icon_thumright: ..........................however, as you know, I've been toiling away in my shed getting the bike back to it's former glory plus a few 'extras' thrown at it, so I'd like it to take to the road all new and shiny again with the trick bits on a new set of boots looking all pretty  :headbang:  yeah,yeah I know.  :roll:
