 Me and a mate out for a squirt today, pulled up to a big roundabout at red lights. Next thing we know this shit hot silver scooby sti cop car (unmarked) pulls across in front of us so we couldn't go anywhere (not that i would have) blues and twos on and made us pull over

The copper had my mate in the car and another copper with me. My mate got cautioned before being spoken to  - i didn't.  The coppers were ok. We weren't given a ticket there and then or anything but they said they are going to report us for 110 in a 70 limit and for our small number plates.

What you reckon my chances are?

trouble is it takes them ages to summonse you. as most of you know i had a really shit day back in september. left mine at 7 am on a sunny sunday morning to meat GRNINJA and on to foxes. got pulled at 7.20 by an unmarked volvo and reported for doing 107 mph in a 70. then by 3pm i was on me back with a busted leg and a wrecked 10 to boot. Anyway the summons came threw 3 weeks short of 6 months later and a court date of 18th april. So it can really drag on, i would have been happy with a ban while i was laid up but not now things are starting to get better and guna get back to work. Anyhow good luck and keep your fingers crossed.

Did you  get a producer ??   Is there a tick in the box for a offence ??

I got caught doing 90 mph in a 60  in my mad days took 5 months for it to come through  

There was no camera just 2 coppers!!

I have nothing. No papers, no producer. There is no evidence i am aware of other than the two coppers say-so. There were no camera's in the car (being fitted next week they told us).

So i take it this 2 weeks thing is just bollox then for it to be null and void if they don't let us have a summons before then?


Dazman - Did you get done on just the coppers' word? Did you go to court or accept a penalty?

Jedi - Did they give you a ticket or any papaerwork at the "scene"?

sounds like they were frustrated and are scaremongering you, I'd expect at least a producer and formal documnetation of a pending endorsement

no the 14 days still applies to the offence....they have to caution you and inform you of intended prosecution within 14 days if you were filmed committing and offence and no policemen were present.  However if the police are present and you were not cautioned then you are highly unlikely to be under threat of a charge.  You have to be cautioned if an offence has been committed or one has been suspected and the police are with you. They would always ask you to produce without fail.... They must caution you if they intend to prosecute (I think anyway) otherwise the evidence they have and what you say to them cannot be used in court...I think you will be okay here but dont take my word for it as I am no expert...

just for information 2 police men are enough evidence to committ you.  If they say you were speeding even without any equipment chances are they will win a case....2 against 1...not very common these days but it does happen...

Sounds to me like they were having fun with their new toy and making you aware that they were watching and they have a machine that is seriously able to catch you up if you stop or slow.......think they were sound lads and giving you fair warning......

so did the scoby coe from behind you ? if not how did they know how fast u wer going with no speed camera    and why no paper work if u got done for plate u should have been given a ticket for the plate and a producer !!!!!
