Found out in Feb 2007 that I was being made redundant in Sept of that year.

After the initial shock......and worry I realised that I should be in for a good payout  after 22 years working for the same company and several sharesave schemes to cash in.

Did me a favour really.......Decent payout and even though the 1st job I took after didnt suit I found another about 6 months later which I enjoy.

Another bonus was I got to spend some dosh on much needed new leathers and a fair bit on the 10 (even tough it didnt really need it   [rofl]) and still left plenty to invest

Hope all works out for you bud :icon_thumright: :icon_thumright:

I was at work one day when a group of us was asked to drop everything and go to a meeting.  Totally out of the blue we were all made redundant, had our ids and keys taken off us and escorted off the premises.  Hugely embarrassing for the workers that were left, but it was a standard way of doing things.  We were allowed back for a month on temp ids and given access to t'internet, paper, printers etc as a gesture of goodwill.  We pretty much all got jobs within days, but spent most of our time surfing for porn, cos let's face it, what were they going to do, sack us? :pottytrain2:

Juvenile I know, but it cheered us up at the time.

One door closes and another opens, so it's right to look on the bright side.  This time next year you may wonder why you stayed there as long as you did.
