Been stopped in Spain ....  Crossing a white line whilst pressing on in the foothill of the Pyrenee's - 300 euro's (just bent over an took it like a man).   Speeding in Northern France ( they are now very hot with this one) -- 132mph ... got a telling off by the most chilled french copper you could want to meet - deserted motorway and we were "pressing on" - we did the last 100 miles to Calais a 130 kph ;-)

These were 6-8 years back now - I hear its much more strict today.

not so bad on the back roads in france as long as you go steady through the villages they love you....on the motorways you can get up to some lovely speeds but every now and again you get hit by a partol..bad luck if you do but speak a bit of ferench and try to be nice and they are much more lenient that UK cops....

really , oops  :emb: I drove to amsterdam last year and on the way back to calais I was towing 130 to 145mph most of the way as I had my fill of driving need to get back for a deadline I didn't get a peep out of any fuzz..... though going through belgium yogi warned me not to speed in amsterdam as they take you car, I was still doing 100 to 120mph needed to get the job done.... then back to the UK and back to 70mph everywhere  [rofl] [rofl] [rofl]

Yes, worked for us :-) Much more human - they only get concerned with riders behaving like dicks in the villages/towns - I dont think they care so much on the major autoroutes etc...

3 trips to france in the last 4 years and rode like a complete twat on each trip, only one spot of bother when one of the women with us tried to pass off that she was her mate cos she forgot her driving licence!  [naughty]

More of the same planned again this year.
