I love ducati's but i was not very impressed with how they got the homologation passed. Childish and arrogant is how they came across to me

There are set rules in wsb which basically say the race bike must be based on a bike on sale to the general public in a set no' (200 min i think)
Remember the foggy rep 916 that was done just so they could make changes to the race bike  :icon_thumright: This is called a homolagation special

This weight thing could get like horse racing when its not just the bike but the weight with rider taken into cosideration. Biaggi and Xaus in same team, bikes have weight added poor Xaus will still be loads heavier :icon_scratch:

P.S. Kawasaki had to do it with the 6RR. BTW. Did they ever sell any Foggy Petronas?

Foggy got dispensation as they needed bikes on the grid. Petronas was supposed to produce a road bike but i guess they decided not to bother

I have to say, I've never been a Ducati fan, the looks have never stirred my loins, however the sound makes me want to have one.

Having seen the Ducati's on the weekend and I especially like the Sterilgada one.  And also the way they were taking corners made me want one even more.

Ah well I can dream can't I.  [rofl]

The rules and regulations following the homologation of the 1200 already stipulates weight and air restriector penalities for them if they have an N point average better than the 4's. Section 2.4 of the FIM technical regulations has it in detail/black and white ....

Yeap, a decision on how much weight etc will be made after the 3rd round.

The ducati's still arent as quick as the inline 4's down the staights.

Lets not also forget that the yamaha ran up front untill they hit there usual tyre problems (what is with the 06-07 R1's eating tyres, it should be the ducati's that are doing that).
And you have to factor in the riders onboard the 1098's, Bayliss, Xaus, biaggi. All podium worthy old dogs who know how to ride a bike. You have to look at Lanzi, fabrizio and smrz for a more realistic picture. (ok so ducati's still dominated the second race!)

I also think that Biaggi would of run away with the championship this year had he stayed with suzuki, that bike is fast and suits biaggi's hot in, hot out riding style.
