scrubs are fine but you gota watch the heat cycles,my mates metz looked fine but they
lost the will to grip and highsided but saved it on gerrads,but tyre had loads of grip so
we reckon it was the heat cycles,it was very blue on the edges.

as for new,i put a new gp racer on day b4 mallory,scrubbed it first sesh and it was awesome
from then on.got a scrub front at moment which is fine.

I used to use them for trackdays but to be honest was often more hassle than it was worth........i've had a couple of bargains but also received a rear dunlop through Ebay that was almost to the canvas on the right hand side the cheeky bastard......

Problem is you end up fitting tyres far more often as you will normally only get 1 track day out of a set of scrubs.....I often wonder about the heat cycles too........

I tend to stick with new now but you can often save a few quid by starting the day on a tired rear tyre and then get the tyre man to put your new rear on for you at lunchtime........this way you finish off the tyre in the morning when you are still pretty slow and have fresh rubber for the afternoon once you are dialled in....
